Dating Quarter
Version 1 · 18 August 2026
What you're agreeing to, what we're promising, and what a KronosID actually is — because it is not the throwaway login you are used to.
The short version. You must be 18 or over to be in the Dating Quarter. Your KronosID is yours and it is permanent — one identity, one person, not a profile trapped inside one website. Be decent to people. If you aren't, you'll be removed. You can leave completely, whenever you want, and take nothing but yourself with you.
Most accounts are a tenancy. You fill in a profile, it lives on someone else's website, and when that website is sold or shut down or decides it doesn't like you, the person you built there simply stops existing. You start again somewhere else, from nothing.
A KronosID is not that. It is one identity that belongs to you and carries across everything Kronos builds. One person, one KronosID — a place you accumulate a self rather than a temporary perch on someone else's roof.
Concretely, that means:
Which means you are not anonymous here. Not to us. A throwaway account on a throwaway site lets people behave in ways they never would in a room with their name on the door — and the Dating Quarter is a room with your name on the door.
We think that is a feature and not a threat. It is the reason a block can be permanent, the reason someone removed for hurting people cannot simply reappear tomorrow, and the reason the person you are talking to is far more likely to be real. The cost of that is borne by the people who were going to behave badly, and we are comfortable with that trade.
You are responsible for keeping it secure — a real password, kept to yourself. If you think someone else has got into it, reset your password: doing so signs out every other device automatically.
Dating Quarter is a place, not the whole world. It sits on a wider street of things your KronosID can walk into — other quarters, other activities, other rooms. Some exist now, more are being built.
The rule that makes that safe is worth stating clearly, because it is a design decision and not just a policy:
What happens in the Dating Quarter stays in the Dating Quarter. Your dating profile, your photos, who you said yes to, and everything you say in a conversation exist here and nowhere else. Walking into another part of the street does not carry your dating life with you, and nobody there can see it.
Your KronosID is the thread. What you hang on it in one place does not follow you into another unless you decide it should.
You must be 18 or over to enter the Dating Quarter. There is no discretion in this and no version of it we will bend.
When you first come to the Quarter we ask for your date of birth. If you are under 18, the Quarter does not open.
This is deliberate, and it is the reason the two are separate things. Being too young for the Dating Quarter does not mean being turned away from Kronos. A younger person can hold a KronosID and use the other parts of the street that are appropriate for them. The age check is on this door, not on the identity.
When you turn 18, the door opens. You do not need a new account, and you do not lose anything you built elsewhere in the meantime — which is precisely the point of an identity that is yours rather than a site's.
A dating space with children in it is the most harmful thing this product could accidentally become. Everything else on this page is a matter of degree. This one is not. Giving us a false date of birth to get in is a serious breach of these terms and will end the account, and where a child has been put at risk we will involve the police.
If you believe someone here is under 18, tell us at hello@datingquarter.com. We will act on it quickly and you do not need to be certain before reporting it.
We are not going to write you forty rules. The Quarter exists so people can meet each other honestly, so:
And a practical one: meeting people from the internet is normal and mostly lovely, but meet in public the first time, and tell someone where you're going.
We are here to help you find someone. We are not trying to become the place you spend your evenings.
The conversation in Dating Quarter exists to get two people from "we matched" to "we're meeting" — or to "actually, no thanks", which is an equally good outcome and a complete sentence. Once you know you want to keep talking, take it to a phone call, a text, or wherever you normally talk to people. We are not built to be your daily messenger and we are not trying to hold you here.
That does mean a few things are out of place in this room:
But please don't rush off too quickly, and here is the honest reason. Moving to WhatsApp or a phone number within the first few messages is the single most common thing a scammer asks for, precisely because we cannot see it and cannot help you once you have left.
So: talk here until you are comfortable, then move on when you decide to — not when someone else is pushing you to. If someone is unusually keen to get you off this app straight away, that is not impatience — it is the oldest move there is, and they have shown you their hand. And if you have already left and something goes wrong, come back and tell us anyway — we can still remove them from here, which stops them doing it to the next person.
Your photos and your words remain yours. We do not claim ownership of anything you make. You give us only the permission we need to actually run the thing — to store your profile and show it to other people inside the Dating Quarter — and that permission ends when you delete it.
We will not use your face or your words in advertising or promotion. If we ever wanted to, we would ask you first, and you would be free to say no.
The software, the design and the name are ours.
Terms are usually a list of what you owe us. Here is the other direction:
We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms. For the serious things — anything involving a child, threats, or impersonation — we do it immediately and without warning.
For everything else we would rather talk to you first, and you can always reply to us at hello@datingquarter.com. If you think we have got it wrong, say so and a person will look again. We are small enough that this is a real offer rather than a form.
Being removed from the Dating Quarter does not automatically end your KronosID, unless what happened was serious enough to warrant it.
Settings → leave the quarter. Your card, your photos, and every decision you have made go immediately and permanently. Your conversations close.
Two honest details:
Leaving the Quarter leaves your KronosID intact. To close that as well, do it from your KronosID account.
Dating Quarter is provided as it is. We work hard on it, but we cannot promise it will never be down and we cannot promise you will meet anyone — that part is not in our gift.
We do not vet the people who use it. An account existing here is not a character reference. We cannot know that someone is who they say they are, and we are not going to pretend otherwise — anyone claiming they can is selling you something.
What we can do is run the place well: make the rules clear, act when someone breaks them, and build this so that nothing ever hurries you. Everything here moves at your speed on purpose — the pause before a decision, the fact that a conversation only opens when both people chose it. That is not decoration. People who mean you harm rely on you moving faster than you would like to, and the simplest protection we can give you is a place that never asks you to.
So take your time. Nobody here is going anywhere — and anyone pressing you to hurry has just told you exactly who they are.
We are not liable for what other people do, though we will help you deal with it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and nothing in them removes the rights you have as a consumer.
Version 1. This document says what we actually intend and will be reviewed by a solicitor before Dating Quarter opens to the public. Where it is incomplete it is marked as such rather than padded — a term we have not thought about properly is worse than one we have admitted to.
